Jeffrey M. Liebmann, MD

Dr. Liebmann is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, New York University School of Medicine; Director, Glaucoma Services, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and New York University Medical Center; and Adjunct Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York.

A graduate of Boston University School of Medicine in 1984, Dr. Liebmann completed his residency at the State University of New York/Downstate Medical Center and his glaucoma fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American College of Surgeons as well as a member of numerous scientific and medical organizations. Dr. Liebmann serves as Vice-President and President-Elect for the American Glaucoma Society and Secretary-Treasurer of the New York Glaucoma Society, is a member of the Board of Governors of the World Glaucoma Association, and is past-President of the New York Society for Clinical Ophthalmology and co-founder of the New York Glaucoma Research Institute.

 
Dr. Liebmann is currently a Principal Investigator for two National Eye Institute Clinical Trials sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, including the African Descent and Glaucoma Evaluation Study, a nationwide multicenter glaucoma research project. He is the author and/or co-author of over 425 medical and scientific papers, book chapters, and abstracts. In addition, he has lectured widely in the United States and abroad on glaucoma diagnosis, management and research.
