Please join us at 5pm (eastern time) on Tuesday, November 24th for a talk on sustained drug delivery with by Dr. Poonam Misra.
Glaucoma medication burden refers to the physical, psychological, and economic demands of the daily regimens required to control eye pressure, which can impact adherence, quality of life, and healthcare costs.
Sustained medication delivery — also called sustained-release, extended-release, or controlled-release drug delivery — is a technology designed to release a drug gradually over time, maintaining steady blood levels and reducing the need for frequent dosing.
Dr. Poonam Misra is a glaucoma specialist at Manhattan Eye, Ear, Throat Hospital of Northwell Health, where she is also the Co-Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship. She completed her glaucoma fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center in 2019 after residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
