Managing Partner, Plasma Consultants, LLCPrinceton, New Jersey
Joe Rosen
Joe Rosen graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in Business Administration. His career started as a CPA with a large regional accounting firm where he quickly rose to a position in management. When an opportunity arose, he left the accounting profession to pursue a business venture in the medical field.
Joe and his partners started Sera-Tec Biologicals, a business to collect human plasma for further manufacturing into albumin, gamma globulin, antihemophiliac factor, and numerous diagnostic products. Within two years, he sold the business but remained with the acquiring company as Vice President and General Manager. The business grew to become the largest independent collector of plasma in the industry. He bought the business back and years later sold it to Baxter Healthcare. During his career, he served for 10 years as Chairman of the Board of the plasma collection industry trade association, Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association. After leaving Baxter, he started a new company, Plasma Consultants LLC, where he continues to be active in the industry.
Joe has also served on the Boards of public and private companies in the medical field and on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations. He became interested in glaucoma when his wife was diagnosed with glaucoma. He and his wife have been supporters of glaucoma research since they met Dr. Ritch and were introduced to the ongoing research initiatives.
