Poonam Misra, MD
Dr. Poonam Misra is a glaucoma specialist at Manhattan Eye, Ear, Throat Hospital of Northwell Health, where she is also the Co-Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship. She completed her glaucoma fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center in 2019 after residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Misra received her BS with a major in biology and minor in philosophy from the Boston College, College of Art & Sciences Honors Program, in 2010, and medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2014. Dr. Misra was previously in the NYU Department of Ophthalmology as a full-time member of the Faculty Group Practice, as well as resident educator and Associate Chief of Ophthalmology at Bellevue Hospital from 2020-2024. In her clinical practice she focuses on adult glaucoma, comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery. She is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Women in Ophthalmology. She has a particular interest in teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Dr. Misra also volunteers as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
